Imran Khan vs. us

The reason why people do support Imran Khan is because there is truth in what he speaks. His biggest critics also admit that his motivations and capability can be doubted but his intention and accuracy of his observations of the shameful reality of our political landscape, are not far off the mark. Evil or truth requires a soil, to take seed and to bear fruit. The tenuous soil in which the message of Imran Khan has attempted to take seed might not be able to support the ambitious heights this seedling dreams of. Some say truth does not require a diplomacy or tact to declare itself. It does not require a perceptive state for its existence. It can be, without an observer. Imran Khan has told the truth. Will it carry him to an immediate victory. Does it matter?

Against Imran Khan is not a low IQ polltician. It is the product of the soil of the country. Our premier does not have an ounce of will to influence events or more than a few neurons in his frontal lobe to plan. If such a vapid personality, who supports status quo takes the helm of the country, repeatedly, it can only mean one thing. There are powers and motivations that nourish this puppet. Motivations that stand for status quo. Motivations that stand for corruption. These motivations are found in you and me. So the reality is that Go Nawaz Go is merely us, Pakistanis trying to find an easy scape goat. We are the people who are against Imran Khan. The very supporters of Imran Khan will be and have to be the reason for his downfall. We will have trouble living with consequences of truth. Looking in our past, we will see many a shameless acts of our personal corruption just to survive in a corrupt society. The only way that falsehood survives is by making its practitioners rationalize it. What better rationalization than the necessity for survival. It is these rationalizations that will make us save our skin and sacrifice the truth.

These are the same rationalizations that have allowed this evil to flourish on a day to day basis, unchallenged. These are the same rationalizations that make drawing room politicians and sane intellectuals make constipated faces as they pass judgements on the ongoing conflict. They take the high ground of impartiality yet remain completely blind to the status quo of their own emotions. Emotions that these poor souls had to kill when they sacrificed their morality for the first time in the name of survival. These creatures can be found distracting themselves pretending that the final result really does not matter to them.

And then there are the supporters of Imran Khan. There are some who believe in truth but yet do not realize that they will be changed beyond comprehension if the truth that they yearn for, was to materialize and affect them. Some are masochistically ready for such a death of self, some are not. Such a conflict has been going on since the world came in to being. It will continue to go on. The result might be very predictable, yet the the tale grips us in its throes when we become protagonists.

Imran Khan and us are merely playing our parts in this contest. It really does not matter to the turtle who carries the world on its back. But it matters to me. It matters to me which death I choose. I just hope that I am conscious of the fact that I do have a choice. Choosing truth and nothing but the truth is a simple thing. It can be a deadly thing but it really is a simple thing. It does not require a statesman or a politician or any other developed or innate capability. It requires morality and character. Those qualities Imran Khan possesses.
